HTA Reunion 2021 - Mildura *NEW*

“The Ford Coupe Club of Australia (Vic) Inc is pleased to announce a Hardtop Anniversary (HTA) Reunion to take place in the fantastic city of Mildura on the 19th, 20th and 21st of November 2021. This is a pared back event to bring hardtop owners together after the ravages of COVID-19.

An action-packed weekend has been arranged, starting with a Meet & Greet on Friday afternoon/evening followed by a sausage sizzle.

A busy Saturday will include a mini car show in the City Mall in the morning to promote the Show and Shine, a Khanacross at the Kelly Brothers favourite Test and Training Circuit, and to finish off the day, we have access to Drags Under Lights, a 1/8th of a mile dragstrip, in the evening.  For those who would prefer a less competitive and more relaxed Saturday, there will be a car cruise that will take in the highlights of the Mildura area, and for those who would like a social day, a shuttle bus service has been arranged to the Trentham Winery just across the NSW border.

There are two optional events on the Saturday, at the driver training circuit and Sunset Drag Strip, which will incur additional costs for each driver per event. These two options are subject to limited numbers of participants, and only available to those who are registered for the full weekend event. If applications exceed the number of places available for these events, we will try to ensure you can partake in at least one activity of choice. Please note – passengers are not permitted at the khanacross and the drag strip.

Sunday will be a traditional cruise through the town centre, followed by a Show & Shine at Nowingi Place which is a large park with ample space to display your coupe. The show will conclude with trophy presentations and a buffet meal at the display venue. (Inclement weather arrangements have also been made for this event).

Admission to the HTA Reunion 2021 is $130 per car and driver, plus $50 per passenger, children below the age of 16 are free. The Admission fee for entrant and paying passengers will include a T Shirt, Cap and general wristband (which enables discounts at nominated venues), additional wristbands for paid events, an entry sticker for your car and general information about the weekend’s activities. These fees also cover the Friday evening Sausage Sizzle, Meet & Greet, free shuttle bus transport to both the Saturday and the Sunday events, and the Buffet meal at the conclusion of the Sunday Show & Shine.

Pre-registration is essential to the “HTA Reunion 2021”. Casual application on the day, will not be accepted. The Entry form can be found below, with final entries accepted no later than 1st October 2021. Hardtop Owners from around Australia are most welcome to register, attend, participate, and enjoy the planned activities. Please download the entry form for details of all terms and conditions.

Please download an entry form here (right click save as), and either fill it in electronically (using Adobe 'Fill and Sign' function) or manually and either email a copy to the club email address or post it to the club with your payment.

To keep costs low, participants will be responsible to organise their own accommodation and most meals. This way you can set your own budget. Attached is a list of some accommodation options with brief personal comments. The list is in no particular order, although in general terms, inspections of the Commodore Motel and the Mildura Grand Hotel would appear to offer a degree of safety for the cars, and clean comfy rooms. An added bonus is the closeness to a car wash, the City centre, food venues, and the Show & Shine site, at Nowingi Place.

An outline of the Driver Training Circuit is also attached. The Saturday activities at this circuit will be conducted under CAMS (Khanacross) rules, and in particular, drivers will be required to wear approved head protection, covered arms and legs, and covered shoes. A limited number of loan helmets and new balaclava’s will be available in numerous sizes at the venue. All participating vehicles will be subject to scrutineering, and loose items will need to be secured or removed from the vehicle. Fixed fire extinguishers will not be required, and standard ADR compliant seat belts are OK. To use the circuit under these rules, the vehicle must be road registered. Should a vehicle be unregistered or be specifically built for competitive track use, full CAMS scrutiny will be required. A CAMS approved Event Manager will be on site to deal with this.  No more than two vehicles will be permitted on the circuit at any one time. Limited food will be available at the venue.

The Drag Strip event will be conducted under the rules of the Sunraysia Drag Racing Association. Drinks and food will be available at this venue.

Remember to bring a deck chair on the day.

*NOTE: If greater interest is expressed in this event than we can safely cater for, the HTA Reunion Committee may need to bring forward the closing date of entries. To avoid disappointment, get your entries in early (and remember to book your own accommodation.) An email will be sent to you, with your entrant number once your application has been processed by the Committee. Motorsport confirmation cannot be guaranteed until final applications have been received.

Final Comments.

The HTA Reunion Committee, as part of the Ford Coupe Club of Australia (Vic) Inc, have worked hard to assemble a fun event to encourage coupe owners, Australia wide, to gather, socialise and display their iconic cars.

We look forward to welcoming you all to Mildura in November this year and hope you enjoy this special event.
